Biography

Research Excellence Chair in Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation and Professor, Faculty of Health Sciences, Ontario Tech University, Canada; Director, Institute for Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation. Dr. Pierre Côté is an internationally acclaimed epidemiologist and rehabilitation scientist with over three decades of experience in musculoskeletal health and disability prevention. His research has significantly advanced the understanding of spinal disorders, rehabilitation outcomes, and injury prevention. He has authored over 370 peer-reviewed publications and has played a leading role in developing international clinical practice guidelines through collaborations with the World Health Organization (WHO), Cochrane Rehabilitation, and EUROSPINE. His association with MGM School of Physiotherapy strengthens the institution's commitment to evidence-based rehabilitation and internationally relevant research.

Mentor and Consultant Physiotherapist, NISHTA Integrated neuro development centre, Chennai. Visiting Faculty, Sri Ramachandra College of Physiotherapy, Chennai. Former Head of Faculty at Spastics Society of Tamil Nadu Prof. Sailakshmi Ganesan is a distinguished neuro physiotherapist and academician with over 30 years of experience in neurological and pediatric rehabilitation. Her expertise spans neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy, stroke rehabilitation, and early intervention. A dedicated educator and researcher, she has held several academic leadership positions, authored numerous scientific publications, and continues to mentor postgraduate and doctoral scholars while advancing evidence-based neurorehabilitation.

Professor of Rehabilitation Science, Cardiff University, UK (1998-2024) International Society of Biomechanics Executive Council (2007-2011) Established Research Centre for Clinical Kinesiology, Cardiff University, UK (1998) Late Prof. Robert Van Deursen was an internationally respected expert in biomechanics, gait analysis, and rehabilitation sciences. His research focused on diabetic foot biomechanics, movement analysis, and functional rehabilitation, contributing extensively to improving mobility and quality of life for individuals with chronic conditions. His collaborative work with MGM Centre of Human Movement Science played an instrumental role in advancing research and education in clinical biomechanics.

Professor Emerita of Orthopaedic Surgery and Environmental Medicine, New York University School of Medicine, USA. Dr. Nordin was a globally renowned scientist and educator in spine care, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, biomechanics, and ergonomics. Dr. Nordin is an EUROSPINE Lifetime Achievement awardee (2024). She is the author of textbook on ‘Basic Biomechanics of the Musculoskeletal System’. Dr. Nordin was the first female President of the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine (1999–2000) and first physical therapist to join the ICC of The Global Musculoskeletal Alliance. She was also the founding President of World Spine Care Europe (2016-2019). Her contributions continue to inspire clinicians, educators, and researchers in the field of musculoskeletal health.

Senior Consultant Physiotherapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist. Dr. Anuradha Daptardar (P.T) is an accomplished clinician with extensive experience in cardiovascular and respiratory physiotherapy and advanced certification in lymphedema management from the United Kingdom. With decades of clinical expertise in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, intensive care physiotherapy, postoperative rehabilitation, and lymphatic disorders, she brings invaluable practical knowledge to students through experiential learning and mentorship.

Owner and Director of Vedanta Pediatric Centre, Senior Neuro Physiotherapist and Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) Practitioner. Dr. Asha Chitnis is an internationally recognized neuro physiotherapist with over three decades of experience in pediatric neurological rehabilitation. She is the first and only NDTA Coordinator Instructor from India, certified by the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association (USA), and serves on the NDTA Research Committee. As Director of Vedanta Pediatric Centre, Mumbai, she specializes in the assessment and management of infants and children with cerebral palsy, developmental disorders, and other neurological conditions. In addition to her clinical work, she teaches internationally and has conducted numerous workshops and webinars in pediatric and neurorehabilitation practice.

Visiting Faculty in Yoga, MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai (since 2016), and K. J. Somaiya Institute of Dharma Studies, Mumbai. Empanelled Examiner for the Yoga Certification Board, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Mr. Girish Nehete is an experienced Yoga educator and researcher with expertise in Yoga therapy, movement science, and rehabilitation. He has co-authored research publications in the International Journal of Yoga, including studies on Surya Namaskar biomechanics and Yoga interventions for diabetic peripheral neuropathy. He actively conducts Yoga rehabilitation programs for stroke survivors, individuals with paralysis, chronic respiratory disorders, and stress-related conditions. In addition to leading Yoga and wellness workshops for hospitals, corporate organizations, and community health initiatives, he brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective through over a decade of experience in Information Technology and Data Management, enriching his approach to Yoga education, research, and evidence-based practice.

Head, Sports Science Department & High Performance Analyst, Sports Authority of India (National Centre of Excellence), Mumbai. Dr. Amruta P. Balkawade is a distinguished sports physiotherapist and high-performance analyst with expertise in sports injury prevention, rehabilitation, athlete monitoring, and performance optimization. She currently leads the Sports Science Department at the Sports Authority of India (NCOE), Mumbai, where she works with elite athletes across multiple sporting disciplines. A FIFA Diploma holder in Football Medicine, she has served as Team Physiotherapist for the Indian Contingent at the BRICS Games 2024 and the Indian Fencing Team at the Grand Prix 2025–26. Having worked with Olympians, international medalists, and national champions, Dr. Balkawade brings extensive experience in evidence-based sports medicine, return-to-play strategies, and high-performance athlete management, enriching students with practical insights from elite sports.
